Dispatch support: How Are We Different?
Traditional dispatch centers serve as a central resource between multiple motor carriers to provide backbone support to emerging owner operators and fleets. They typically charge a percentage fee, ranging anywhere from 2% to 15% of the total load payout. Though they are a great tool for companies that do not have the existing knowledge or volume requirements for a dedicated, full time dispatcher, their costs can be steep and will not have the same level of dedication. We provide a slightly different approach that allows small to mid size trucking companies to reap the benefits of a dedicated full time dispatcher at a fraction of the cost.
IN-HOUSE DISPATCHER
Best for: Mid size to large companies who have the volume to justify full time support
PROS:
Dedicated support
CONS:
Expensive hourly
Paying for hours you don't necessarily need
Typically not available 24/7
Typically requires training by client
Loadboard subscriptions and other software costs not covered
THIRD PARTY DISPATCH CENTERS
Best for: Small companies just starting out
PROS:
No training required
Cheaper than hiring a full time dispatcher
Loadboard subscriptions and other software costs covered
CONS:
Relatively expensive
Will not necessarily prioritize your interests over other clients
CUSTOM TRUCKER DISPATCH
Best for: Small to mid size companies looking for dedicated support at minimal cost
PROS:
Dedicated support
Cheaper than dedicated dispatchers and dispatch centers
Pay only the hours you need
Available 24/7
CONS:
Typically requires training by client
Loadboard subscriptions and other software costs not covered
